Saving Vape, Addressing the Current State of Vape
We realize you have some questions like...
Are all vape flavors being banned?
Are people dying from vape? Why?
How can I stay safe?
To start we must differentiate between "vaping" as a process and vaping as an industry. The process of vaping relates to the heating of a coil to produce liquid into vapor. This is a broad term that the media has used to describe the recent deaths and illnesses. Vaping as an industry refers more to the facts that E-Cigarettes have been proven to be 95% safer than traditional nicotine consumption, and are used by millions across the globe to reduce or end the use of cigarettes. Thus, the news is creating a large sector of misinformation as we break down below.

Facts of the matter:
Last Wednesday, the President of the United State publicly took his stance on the vape related illnesses that have received a lot of media attention lately. In an impromptu meeting, he announced that his office would push to ban all flavors except tobacco. However, he lacked in providing evidence for why the flavors are to blame. For now, it is reported by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) , "Most patients have reported a history of using e-cigarette products containing THC." This is directly referring to THC cartridges, and furthermore most likely those purchased on the street, NOT VAPE JUICE. For now it is unclear as to what the future for vaping holds, however, there are some states who have decided to ban flavors altogether or implement some sort of flavor restrictions, but New Mexico does not currently have any sort of "vape flavor ban/restrictions"
( click here to view a full list ).
The CDC states, "Based on initial data from certain states we know: Most patients have reported a history of using e-cigarette products containing THC. Many patients have reported using THC and nicotine. Some have reported the use of e-cigarette products containing only nicotine."

Currently there is NO DIRECT LINK between the "vape related" deaths. The only known link between them is that most of the deceased were using what are to be considered "street purchased THC products". These products can contain a variety of different chemicals which can prove to be toxic to human health. New York has conducted research into various cases within their state and have found conclusive evidence that Vitamin E Acetate was used to cut many THC products that harmed users. (Click here to view NY Department of Health's Announcement). Vitamin E Acetate is known to be toxic to humans when vaped. Unfortunately however, there are 7 reported deaths as of September 19th, 2019. Upon further investigation, it is unclear what caused these, and it is unlikely that your typical regulated vape products caused it. Whilst there remains a lot of uncertainty, we are sure our products are safe, but we encourage everyone to educate themselves on what they are ingesting, and how it affects them. In typical vape juice there are 4 ingredients, vegetable glycerin (VG), propylene glycol(PG), nicotine dissolved in VG/PG, and flavored extracts. You can see the FDA's views for each of these by clicking on the linked words above.
There is far less risk associated with vaping as compared to cigarettes, but there is still inherit risk. The best things you can do to stay safe is:
- Stay up to date with current issues
- Buy from verified stores/sources
- If you use THC based products, only purchase from regulated medical cannabis dispensaries.
- Ensure you know what you are ingesting/inhaling.
- If you are experiencing any of the symptoms cited on the CDC website, seek medical attention.
